Woman Dies After Falling From Porch At CT Residence
A Connecticut woman was killed after the railing on her balcony collapsed and she fell more than eight feet to the pavement below.
The incident took place around 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, in Hartford at 82 Chadwick Ave., authorities said.
The woman, who has not been identified, was standing on the second-floor rear deck of her home when the railing collapsed and she fell more than eight feet onto the pavement, causing severe head trauma, said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.
She was transported to Hartford Hospital where she later died, he added.

Prison Guard From LI Accused Of Accepting $10K In Bribes, Having Romantic Relations With Inmate
A Rikers Island prison guard from Long Island has been charged in a larger bribery conspiracy case that includes taking bribes.
Krystle Burrell, age 35, of Lawrence, was one of six people charged on Tuesday, April 6, with taking bribes to smuggle cell phones and other items to prisoners who are allegedly Bloods gang members, said the US Attorney's Office.
Burrell is accused of accepting bribes in the amount of $9,780 in exchange for smuggling at least two cell phones to her inmate "lover" Terrae Hinds in the summer of 2021, the office said.

Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Mom, 1-Year-Old Baby
Police are searching for a missing Long Island mother and her 1-year-old son.
The toddler, Diego Sierra-Flores, of Hempstead, was last seen at his home on Friday, April 1 around 5:30 a.m., said the Nassau County Police.
The child is believed to be with his mother, Yansis Sierra-Mejia, age 25, address unknown, who may have taken the child to Virginia, police said.
Diego is described as being 2-feet tall, and 25 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes.
Sierra-Mejia is described as being 5-foot-4, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes with an unknown clothing description.

Danbury Man Admits To Child Exploitation Offense
A Fairfield County man has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child after meeting a 14-year-old online and driving to another state to pick her up and bring her to his home.
Wayne Marcell, age 36, of Danbury, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, April 5 in Bridgeport, said Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
