She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. ID Released For Woman Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash A Long Island woman who was killed by a hit-run driver on a busy roadway has been identified. Suffolk County resident Gina Paduano, age 33, of Centereach, was killed around 5:15 a.m., Monday, March 7, on Route 347 in Stony Brook. Paduano was in the westbound lanes in front of 2350 Route 347 when she was struck by a vehicle, said the Suffolk County Police. The driver fled in the vehicle westbound on the roadway, police said. Uber Eats Driver Injured During Westport Carjacking, Police Say An adult and two juveniles were arrested following a carjacking in Fairfield County that left an Uber Eats driver with a severe head injury. The incident took place around 7 p.m., Saturday, March 5 when Westport Police officers responded to the parking lot of 1759 Post Road East on a report of the possible theft of a motor vehicle. Two Woman Shot, One Killed In Connecticut One Connecticut woman was shot and killed, and another wounded in an overnight incident. The incident took place in New Haven County around 2:15 a.m., Saturday, March 5 outside of 215 Hill St., in Waterbury. The women were found when officers responded to weapons complaints outside of a home, said Lieutenant Ryan Bessette, of the Waterbury Police. Man Critically Injured After Shooting Outside Bridgeport Nightclub A man is in critical condition after being shot during a fight in the parking lot of a Fairfield County nightclub. The incident took place around 2 a.m., Sunday, March 6, when Bridgeport Police responded to reports of a person shot at the Ten20 Club. Long Island Robbery Suspect On Run After Shooting Store Employee, Police Say Police on Long Island are searching for a robbery suspect who shot a store employee. The incident took place around 3:20 p.m., Sunday, March 6 at the Da Smoke Spot located at 230 Merrick Road in Oceanside. During the robbery, an unknown man entered the shop and confronted a 26-year-old male employee, and began an argument, Nassau County Police said. Man Nabbed For Two Robberies, Violating Stay-Away Order In Riverhead, Police Say A Long Island man was arrested for allegedly violating a protective stay-away order, in addition to two robbery crimes. Stanley Battle, age 37, undomiciled, was arrested in Suffolk County by the Riverhead Police after they responded to a 911 call for help in Peconic Crossing. Police Searching For Armed Suspect Who Attempted To Force Way Into Long Island Home Police are searching for an armed suspect who allegedly attempted to forcibly enter a Long Island home. The incident was reported around 11 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, on West Main St., in Riverhead. Woman Who Worked At Correctional Facility In Area Nabbed On Sex, Drug Charges A New York woman who works as a nurse at an area correctional facility has been arrested on alleged sex and drug charges. Sullivan County resident Kristie Miller, age 51, of Fallsburg, was arrested by New York State Police on Thursday, March 3, on numerous charges including rape and possession of a controlled substance, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
