She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Good Samaritan Helps Catch Fairfield County Man Who Snatched Purse From Elderly Woman A Fairfield County man was nabbed with the help of a Good Samaritan for allegedly pushing down an elderly woman and stealing her purse. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, while Bridgeport Police officers were on the scene of a call for service and two men ran by and one told them the first man had committed the robbery, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management. Woman Falls 185 Feet Off CT Park Cliff While Hiking A hiker who fell 185 feet off a cliff in Connecticut was critically injured and airlifted to a local hospital. The incident took place in New Haven County around 12:25 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, in Meriden. First responders were dispatched to the area after receiving a report that a hiker fell near the castle above Hubbard Park, Meriden Fire officials said. The woman fell around 65 feet and then "tumbled" another 120 feet down the mountain, officials said. Area Man Arrested For Rape Of Minor Following Investigation, Police Say An area man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a child under the age of 15. The New York State Police Catskill barracks arrested Ulster County resident Luis D. Fernandez, age 45, of Kingston, in relation to a sexual assault investigation on Tuesday, Aug. 3, said Trooper Steven Nevel. According to Nevel, a four-month-long investigation revealed Fernandez had sexual intercourse with a child less than 15-years-old. LI Woman Airlifted After Losing Control Of Her Vehicle, Hitting Cement Barrier, Police Say A 37-year old woman was injured after crashing her vehicle into a cement barrier on Long Island. The incident took place around 10:10 p.m., Monday, August 2, when the woman, driving a 2019 Ford sedan eastbound on Frowein Road at Montauk Highway left the road and struck a fence and a cement barrier in East Moriches, said the Suffolk County Police. The vehicle overturned and the woman was entrapped. After being freed, the woman was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
