Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle On Busy Long Island Roadway A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking on a busy Long Island roadway. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 9:55 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, when Southampton Police responded to the crash on Route 104 in Southampton. According to police, the unidentified man was walking near the traffic circle when he was struck by a vehicle. Western Mass Drive-By Shooting Sends Bullet Through Apartment, Police Say Police are investigating after a drive-by shooting on a city street sent a bullet through an apartment in Western Massachusetts. The incident took place around 11 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, in Holyoke in the area of 21 Bowers St. As officers arrived on the scene, they were told the involved vehicle had driven away from the area, said Holyoke Police Department Captain Matthew Moriarty. Man Steals Pink Sweatshirt, Fights With Officers In Nassau County, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a pink sweatshirt from an area fitness center and then fought with police, injuring one when he returned wearing the shirt. Head-On Crash Kills Hudson Valley Man A man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on collision on a busy Hudson Valley roadway. The crash, which took place in Orange County on Route 17 in the town of Tuxedo, happened around 4 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, between a 2017 International box truck and a 2015 Nissan Sentra, said Trooper Steven Nevel. CT State Police Asking For Help In Fatal Crash That Killed 57-Year-Old Woman State Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help in connection with a fatal crash that killed a 57-year-old woman. State Police Vehicle Involved In Westchester Crash A New York State Trooper received minor injuries after being rear-ended by another vehicle while in traffic in Westchester. The crash took place around 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, on I-287 westbound in White Plains when the trooper was sitting in traffic and was rear-ended by another vehicle, said Trooper Tara McCormick. Ex-Business Owner From Area Admits To Stealing $531K From Clients The former owner of a Hudson Valley funeral home has pleaded guilty to two counts of grand larceny and other crimes in connection with the theft of more than $531,000 from some 90 clients.
