Two Shot, One Fatally, At Same Location In CT
Two people were shot, one fatally, at the same location in Connecticut.
The latest round of bullets flying took place around 11 p.m., Thursday, July 29, in Hartford in the area of 29 Elliott St.
When officers responded after being notified of the shooting by a Shot Spotter activation, they located a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in front of 22 Elliott St., said Hartford PD Lt. Aaron Boisvert.
The victim, identified as Angelo Lopez, age 24, of Hartford, was unresponsive on the scene and was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

18-Year-Old Killed In Long Island Sound Jet Ski Accident
A 2021 high school graduate from Fairfield County is being remembered by friends and family after he was killed when two jet skis collided in the Long Island Sound.
Matthew (Matt) Horvath, age 18, of Shelton, died on Tuesday, July 27, in Milford, said Will Healy, spokesman for the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
Healy said Horvath was killed in a boating accident in which jet skis collided in the Sound.
He was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Healy said.

Man, Woman Nabbed For Stealing Pocketbooks At Long Island Supermarkets, Police Say
A Long Island man and woman have been arrested after a vehicle crash when it was discovered they allegedly stole multiple pocketbooks from women at area supermarkets.
Suffolk County Police said Tariasha Smith, age 25, of West Babylon, was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta at the Lidl supermarket parking lot, in Oakdale, on Wednesday, Julyy 28, when she noticed a woman left her pocketbook in a shopping cart, while she was putting her groceries in her car.
Smith’s front-seat passenger, Robert Hengeveld, age 50, grabbed the pocketbook from Smith’s vehicle, according to police.

Ulster County Fair Is Coming With Plenty Of Fun For All
Just in time to wrap up summer before school starts again, the Ulster County Fair will be setting up the midway games and rides for all to enjoy.
The fair, set for Tuesday, August 3 to Sunday, August 8 in New Platz, has been an area tradition since 1886 and features midway rides and games for all ages, live music and entertainment, truck and tractor pulls, horse shows, livestock shows, exhibits and demonstrations, Wednesday night fireworks and fair food.

CT Man Found Shot To Death Inside Vehicle, Police Say
A Connecticut man who had been shot multiple times may have been trying to drive himself to the hospital was found dead inside the vehicle when police responded to an accident call.
The victim, identified as Desmond Wray, age 35, was found around 11:31 a.m., Thursday, July 29, when in Hartford, in the area of Greenfield Street.
