Man, Woman From Fairfield County Nabbed Stealing $2K In Merchandise From Macy's, Police Say
Man and woman from Fairfield County have been accused of allegedly stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from an area Macy's.
The Bridgeport residents, Janet Gonzalez, age 42, and Carlos Hernandez, age 32, were arrested on Tuesday, July 27, after shoplifting from the Westfield Trumbull Mall, then attempted to enter a stolen vehicle before running from police.
According to Lt. Brian Weir, the two left Macy’s with almost $2000 worth of unpaid-for clothing. Macy’s security initially attempted to stop them, but they left the store.

Westchester Man Drove Drunk With Two Young Daughters In Vehicle, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk under Leandra's Law for having his two young daughters in the vehicle at the time he was stopped, State Police said.
On Saturday, July 24, just before 5:00 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in Orange County in the town of Newburgh, when the driver committed a vehicle and traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle, Richard A. Sarno, age 43, of Yonkers, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with his two daughters, ages 9 and 13, said Trooper Tara McCormick.

State Police Asking For Info In Fatal Crash That Killed CT Man
Connecticut State police are asking the public for help and information in connection with a fatal crash on I-84.
The accident occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, in Hartford County near Exit 62 in Manchester, said state police.
The vehicle, driven by Tolland County resident Michael Burns, age 49, of Ellington, was traveling eastbound on I-84 in the HOV lane when the crash occurred.
According to police, for some reason, the vehicle left the HOV lane and began traveling on the grass median before crashing into a concrete bridge support, police added.

Reckless Driver Hits Another Vehicle On Long Island, Police Say
An alleged reckless, erratic driver who hit another vehicle has been arrested on Long Island.
Kason Andre Robinson Sunley, age 22, of Hampton, Virginia, was arrested on Wednesday, July 28, after Southampton Town Police responded to a 911 call of a reckless driver in Hampton Bays.
The caller, who was on the phone with police during the incident, told officers that Sunley was following another vehicle closely and honking his horn. The driver then struck the caller’s vehicle and attempted to flee, Southampton Police said.
