Long Island Man Hits Vehicle, Then Drives Onto School Field, Police Say A Long Island man who allegedly hit a vehicle in a Wendy's parking lot and then fled before crashing through a metal link fence at a school and drove across the school's field at a high rate of speed has been nabbed by police. Edward Coghlan, age 73, was arrested on Wednesday, June 2 for the incident which took place around 12:40 p.m. in East Rockaway. Missing Man Identified As Person Found In CT River, DA Says A body discovered by a kayaker in the Connecticut River has been identified as that of a missing 67-year-old  Western Massachusetts man, who hasn't been seen in nearly two months. Northwestern District Attorney spokeswoman Laurie Loisel confirmed the body was that of Franklin County resident Geoffrey Arthur, of Sutherland, who was reported missing on Monday, March 29. Jamar Traylor, age 20, and Michael Lockhart, age 21, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Tuesday, June 1, by Bridgeport Task Force officers working in conjunction with Adult Probation, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management. Long Island Man Accused Of Stealing Sneakers At Knifepoint, Police Say A Long Island man was arrested after allegedly stealing a pair of sneakers from a man he was supposed to buy them from. Alexander Almonte, age 20, was arrested around 4:50 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, by Nassau County Police in Bethpage. According to detectives, the victim, a 20-year-old man, agreed to sell sneakers to an Almonte through Facebook Marketplace.  Both agreed to meet at the 7-Eleven located at 4220 Hempstead Turnpike. Fairfield County Man Turns Himself In For Fleeing Scene Of Crash, Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash. Christopher Dezso, age 26, of Norwalk, was arrested on Tuesday, June 1, when he turned himself in to New Canaan Police and admitted that he was the person who had fled the scene of a crash on Friday, May 21, said the New Canaan Police. Dezso was driving a grey Ford van when the crash took place at New Norwalk Road and East Avenue in New Canaan before he fled the scene.
