A 20-year-old man with a distinct hair cut who went on a burglary spree at two Alexandra Mexican restaurants was arrested after stealing from a Walmart, police in Fairfax County said. Eliasar Mardiel Flores, of Alexandria, used a brick to smash the windows and enter Mezcalero Restaurant three times and Mana Pupuseria & Taqueria once, both on Richmond Highway, over the course of several days, Fairfax County police said. A $50,000 Powerball winner was sold in New Jersey. The third-tier prizewinning ticket from the Wednesday, Nov. 23 drawing was bought at the Countryside Food Mart on Lawrenceville-Pennington Road Lawrenceville in Mercer County. Ex-Hudson County Man Charged With Insurance Fraud Over $27K Diamond Ring
A 44-year-old Connecticut man formerly of Hudson County was arrested for filing a bogus insurance claim on a diamond ring valued at $27,000, authorities said. Duke Quarshie, of Norwalk, CT, was issued a payment from Assurant Insurance Company in 2016 for a claim regarding the ring, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. On June 2, 2021, Quarshie was living in North Bergen when filed a second claim for the same piece of jewelry. Federal Inspection Finds More Issues At NJ Veteran's Home, Murphy Deploys Army To Help
An army of specialists were deployed by the Murphy administration to help combat health issues that riddle a New Jersey veteran's home. Titanium Plant Explosion Rocks Berks County Town
An explosion at a titanium plant in Berks County on Thanksgiving Day was being probed by police. About six workers at the TIMET plant in Morgantown were leaving when the blast went off around 2:30 p.m., a Caernarvon Township officer tells PennLive. A smaller explosion had been reported earlier in the day and was believed to have been caused by a furnace, authorities told various news outlets. No injuries were reported.

A flight that departed from Newark Airport was forced to return due to a possible bird strike on Thanksgiving Eve, according to the Federal Aviation Authority. United Airlines Flight 999 headed toward Brussels, Belgium landed safely at the airport around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, after returning due to a possible bird strike, the FAA said. 1 Dead, Two Hurt In Early Thanksgiving Philadelphia Fire
One man was killed and two others injured in a fire early Thanksgiving morning in Philadelphia, officials said. The victim's body was found on the first floor of a rowhouse on the 4600 block of Walnut Street around 1:30 a.m., fire officials said. One person was rescued from the second floor and another from the roof, 6abc says. The three victims were apparently two nephews and their uncle. The fire was under control at around 2:10 a.m. and the house was deemed a total loss.
