A 29-year-old police officer ambushed and killed while on his way to work as a police officer in Raleigh, NC has been buried in New Jersey — his home state. Services for Gabriel Torres, a Jackson native, were held at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, with internment at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. 93-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In East Orange
A 93-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in East Orange, authorities said. Earnest Green was struck at the intersection of South Arlington Avenue and Central Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi said. Green was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:31 a.m. Sunday. A 27-year-old woman died and three others were hospitalized by a DUI driver who was driving erratically over the weekend in Lower Mount Bethel Township, authorities said. Richard Schroeder Jr., 53, of Georgia, was heading south on State Route 611 when he veered into the right shoulder and then back on the road, hitting the driver's side corner of a northbound Subaru Crosstrek around 1:43 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, PA State Police said. Police ID Harrisburg Man, 29, Killed During Weekend Argument
Police have identified the 29-year-old Harrisburg man killed during an argument in Shippensburg this weekend. Milton D. Washington and the gunman got into an argument at the intersection of N. Queen Street and Coover Avenue around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. The argument escalated and Washington was shot dead. A 12-year-old boy died after being shot in the head by his 14-year-old cousin whom he'd been making a music video with in Philadelphia, according to police and a report by 6abc. The victim's cousin apparently shot him in the temple and nose in a second-floor apartment on the 3100 block of 33rd Street around 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, according to city police and the outlet.
