A pair of twin brothers from Maryland are facing federal charges for fraudulently obtaining $1 million in COVID-19 loans, authorities announced.
Jerry and Jaleel Phillips, 24, of Temple Hills, submit bogus Paycheck Protection Program loan applications (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster loan applications (EIDL), and unemployment insurance claims to get the money, United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron said.

Trenton Woman Killed 'On-Again Off-Again Boyfriend,' Prosecutor Says
A Trenton woman has been arrested in the killing of her on-again, off-again boyfriend, authorities said.
Tahira Young, 38, is accused of stabbing Antwone Barnes, 37, dead around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Things had been hot and cold between the two for some time before the killing on the 200 block of East Hanover Street, Onofri said.
Young was detained at the scene of the stabbing, and the prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain her pending trial.

A 20-year-old Baltimore man is being sought by police in the rape of a 13-year-old girl, and a pair of domestic stabbings targeting a 21-year-old victim, authorities announced.
The first incident carried out at the hands of Marquise Henry Jr. was on Dec. 15, 2021, when he raped the teen girl in East Baltimore, city police said.
Five days later, he stabbed the 21-year-old woman 14 times on Cottage Avenue, injuring her lung, liver, neck and arms, according to police. Her injuries were so severe she needed surgery.
