WALLINGTON, N.J. -- Jennie Marciniak (Janina Skorupska), died Saturday, Nov. 7. She was 90. Marciniak was born Oct. 24, 1926, on Jewel St, Greenpoint, Brooklyn, N.Y., to Jan and Rozalja (Tyznik) Skorupski. In 1932, in the aftermath of the Great Depression, her parents returned to Poland with the family.
As a young girl of 13, she witnessed the Sept 1, 1939 Nazi invasion of Poland and the Soviet invasion shortly after. She was an eyewitness to the atrocities and genocide committed against the Jews and other ethnic minorities.

Stratford Rotary Club Serves Up Rib Night To Benefit Access Independence
STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Stratford Rotary Club annual Rib Night, a fundraising event for Access Independence, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14. The event includes raffles and an auction. Raffle prizes include theme baskets, gift certificates for local restaurants, and art work. The menu features “Johnny’s” barbecue ribs or chicken, and salad, vegetable, dessert and coffee or tea. There will be entertainment by DJ Bubai — James Richard and a cash bar.
