Ossining High School Senior Recognized For Astrophysics Research OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining High School senior Cen Chen has received an Acorda Scientific Excellence Award for her research on an alternative method for measuring activity in distant galaxies. The award recognizes students in Westchester and Putnam counties and in Fairfield County, Conn., who are performing “highly significant and innovative scientific, technical, engineering and mathematical (STEM) research," said the announcement. Orangetown Police Charge Pearl River Woman In Stabbing PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A woman allegedly stabbed a man in a domestic attack Tuesday morning in the Pearl River area, according to the Orangetown Police Department. Officers responded at 6:42 a.m. to the scene and ascertained that the accused, Deborah Baranello, 59, of Pearl River had been in a dispute with a male when she pulled a large kitchen knife on him and stabbed at him, causing a laceration to his hand and a puncture wound to his stomach, police said.
