Quilt With 50 Signature Among Nyack Exhibit Historical 'Treasures' NYACK, N.Y. -- An 1862 quilt with 50 signatures of local citizens will be part of a new exhibit opening Sunday in Nyack.In June and July, the Historical Society of the Nyacks will display “Treasures from Our Collection" featuring the star quilt, along with a newly-acquired woven blue and white coverlet by M.A. Corneliso in 1837, and a colorful Crazy Quilt that is over 100-years-old. The men graduated in 1972. Talking to students in Catherine Manin's classroom, the visitors told of playing baseball and treasured teachers, telling what it was like before computers, internet and text messaging, said a release. Ossining Dale Cemetery Offers Picnic, Classical Music OSSINING, N.Y. — In keeping with a 19th century tradition, the Ossining Historic Cemeteries Conservancy will present the annual "Picnic and Music" event, Sunday, June 5 at Dale Cemetery, Ossining, N.Y.Visitors may listen to classical violinist Rachel Alexander, take a self-guided tour of the cemetery, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, and bring blankets or chairs to have a picnic.
