Thousands Of Dutchess Properties Targeted In Tick Study DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A large tick study in Dutchess County has begun to lessen Lyme disease rates and kill ticks with a focus on 14 municipalities, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.Researchers have been getting in touch with owners of thousands of properties in "50 neighborhoods from Beacon to Pine Plains" where Lyme rates are elevated, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal report. Greenburgh Nature Center, Edgemont HS Hasten To End Waste SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- A newly formed Zero Waste Team at Edgemont High School is striving to encourage eco-friendly practices at the school in Scarsdale.The team, a join effort of Greenburgh Nature Center, Edgemont School Foundation, and Edgemont High School, wants to make sure students and staff sort recyclables and trash at new waste sorting stations they will provide.
