Officials: Discarded Smoking Material Sparks Porch Fire In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. -- Fire personnel responded to a porch fire where an occupant was trying to douse the flames with water at a multi-family home on Franklin Street late Tuesday morning, said the Westport Fire Department.The department was notified by a passerby at 11:24 a.m. that the front porch of the residence was on fire, according to the Westport Fire Department.
