ArtsWestchester Spotlights Arts In Education Program at Yonkers School YONKERS, N.Y. -- ArtsWestchester shined a light on the arts in education program at School 30 in Yonkers with an African dance performance March 8 at School 30.State Assembly member Shelley Mayer, D-Yonkers,  joined with ArtsWestchester, school officials and other leaders  to witness the program first-hand. MTA Overtime Pay Jumps $84 Million Overtime spending by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority rose 11 percent in 2015, making it possible for hundreds of employees to double their pay, according to payroll records added today to SeeThroughNY, the Empire Center’s government transparency website.The authority’s 2015 overtime spending at six operating subsidiaries totaled about $876 million, up from $792 million in 2014.  A seventh unit, MTA Bus Company, did not provide an accounting of its overtime and is not included in these calculations. Lakeland Students Compete In Destination Imagination SHRUB OAK, N.Y. -- The Lakeland Central School Districts' Destination Imagination teams competed March 5 at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry.The district had 20 teams that qualified for the NYS DI Tournament. In all, 118 students from five schools took part in the tournament.  Six of the district teams were brand new teams this year.
