Putnam Teachers Making Space For MakerSpace In Schools Twenty-two teachers from Westchester and Putnam counties learned to make talking greeting cards and mini boom boxes at a“MakerSpace” workshop at Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES recently.The workshop teaches them to encourage students to take risks, make mistakes and follow their interests in hands-on learning projects. Trumbull Votes To Repair Playground, Drops Senior Center Plans At Park TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The Trumbull Town Council voted Monday night to restore funds to repair the playground at Indian Ledge Park while also dropping plans to build a new senior center at Island Brook Park, according to the Connecticut Post.The Town Council voted unanimously to move $250,000 slated for the Senior Center Study Committee to the project to repair the Indian Ledge playground, the Post said. Stratford School Board Seeks $107.9 Million Budget STRATFORD, Conn. -- Stratford's Board of Education is seeking an $8 million increase for its budget for 2016-17, reported the Stratford Star. Members of the school board completed the budget work at a special meeting Tuesday, asking for a $107.9 million total budget request, $8 million above this year's package of $99.9 million, according to the Stratford Star.
