Scholastic Chess Competition Coming To Westchester WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Registration is now open for the 2016 Westchester County Scholastic Chess Championship being held Saturday, March 5 at Church Street Elementary, White Plains. The tournament is open to area students from kindergarten through high school with sections organized based on grade. Trophies are awarded to the top individual and team performers. New Rochelle High School Cheerleaders Take Bronze Medal At Championship NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. --The New Rochelle High School Varsity Cheerleaders earned the third place bronze medal in a 56-team small varsity division competition at the National High School Cheerleading Championship.The squad also captured the second place silver medal in the world championships division.  The winning performances can be seen on ESPN2, March 12 at 10 a.m. and April 13 at 11 a.m.  Coming up March 5, the squad will make its bid to represent Section 1 at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state championships in Syracuse.
