Poughkeepsie Firefighters Extinguish Blaze That Wrecked 2 Homes
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Two homes were affected, one damaged and one destroyed, in a Monday afternoon fire on North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.The fire began in the basement at 163 N. Hamilton St., then extended to the neighboring house at 165, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The home's occupants were not home at the time of the blaze, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
City firefighters, along with firefighters from Arlington, Roosevelt and New Hamburg provided assistance, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.

Nanuet Health Fair Coming In April
NANUET, N.Y. -- The agenda is fitness and visitors will gain information on yoga, stretching techniques, kickboxing and a host of other health-related activities at the Third Health & Fitness Fair April 19 in Nanuet.The Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the event.
It will offer free demonstrations, sample workouts, yoga moves and stretching techniques. Health care providers will be on hand to answer questions.

Hudson Valley Actor Liev Schreiber Helps 'Spotlight' Win 'Best Picture'
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- "Spotlight," winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture at Sunday night's Oscars, features Dutchess resident Liev Schreiber.
The movie chronicles the Boston Globe's probe into sex abuse by a Roman Catholic priests and Schreiber plays Boston Globe Executive Editor Marty Baron who led the investigation.
The 48-year-old Schreiber, a San Francisco native, and his partner, Australian actress Naomi Watts, have two sons, Alexander, who was born in 2007, and Samuel, who was born in 2008.
