Doris Marie Salerno, 85, Of White Plains
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Doris Marie Salerno, of White Plains, died Oct. 18, 2015, at White Plains Hospital. She was 85.
Salerno was born Oct. 1, 1930, at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains to Thomas and Dorothy (Austin) McAvoy. She was married to her husband Michael A. Salerno in Scarsdale on Oct. 15, 1950; he predeceased her June 9, 2004.
Salerno had various volunteer positions in the White Plains public school system, and also worked as a secretary for The Holy Child School in Rye. She was a dedicated homemaker, avid reader, quilter and history buff.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Philip Augustine Dreeland, 68, of Croton-on-Hudson, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015. He was 68.
Dreeland was born July 28, 1948, in Ossining, to the late Walter E. Dreeland Jr. and Ruth T. (Patterson) Dreeland Riley.
He attended and graduated from Croton-Harmon High School and was a Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Westchester Civil Air Patrol and was a lifetime member of the Croton-Harmon Fire Patrol #1. WESTPORT, Conn. -- Christopher Lemone, of Bethel, a counselor at Staples High school, died Sunday, Oct. 18. He was 49.
Lemone was born on June 19, 1966, and spent much of his youth on the baseball fields of Northrop and Springdale. After excelling at baseball and basketball at Stamford Catholic High School "Lem" or "Lem-dog," as he was known by his friends, enrolled at Sacred Heart University of Fairfield, where he became an All-NECC baseball player.
