Doris Marie Salerno, 85, Of White Plains WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Doris Marie Salerno, of White Plains, died Oct. 18, 2015, at White Plains Hospital. She was 85. Salerno was born Oct. 1, 1930, at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains to Thomas and Dorothy (Austin) McAvoy. She was married to her husband Michael A. Salerno in Scarsdale on Oct. 15, 1950; he predeceased her June 9, 2004. Salerno had various volunteer positions in the White Plains public school system, and also worked as a secretary for The Holy Child School in Rye. The victim has been identified as Jayson Rosado, 28. Rosado died at St. Vincent’s Hospital after he was found in his home Oct. 18 suffering from multiple stab wounds, Bridgeport police said. Men Cook To Help Raise Funds For Peekskill Youth Bureau PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Men who want to wear their chef's hat for a day can register for the Men Who Cook fundraiser set for Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Peekskill Youth Bureau, 828 Main St. in Peekskill. Volunteers and donations are also needed. The public is welcome to attend this event to benefit the Peekskill Youth Bureau programs. There will be music. Admission is $20; $10 for seniors and children.  A form to sign up to cook, volunteer and make a donation may be found on the Peekskill City School District Facebook page.
