Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Authorities A 32-year-old Newark man was fatally shot on the early morning of Saturday, July 22, authorities said. At 3:16 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 600 block of Broadway,  Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. They found Carlos Zayas outside at the location suffering from a gunshot wound, Stephens and Fragé said. Man Extradited Back To NJ, Charged With Murdering Sister-In-Law, 9-Year-Old Niece Everoy Morrison, a 44-year-old Roselle resident, has been extradited back to New Jersey from Maryland to face charges of bludgeoning his 45-year-old sister-in-law and 9-year-old niece to death, authorities said. Morrison was charged with two counts of first degree murder back in May. In April, Roselle Police Officers were called to a home on the 200 block of West 7th Ave on a report of two missing people, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said. Body Found Near Holland Tunnel A dead woman was found about a mile from the Holland Tunnel on the evening of Wednesday, July 19, authorities said. At 6:52 p.m., Jersey City police saw the body at 18th Street and Jersey Avenue, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. The woman was determined to be dead at the scene and the medical examiner's office responded, Wallace-Scalfione said. The death does not appear to be suspicious, Wallace-Scalfione said.
