Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Atlantic City Man Sentenced For Robbery, Eluding A 21-year-old man from Atlantic City has been sentenced to four years in New Jersey State Prison for robbery and eluding, among other charges, authorities said. Richard Guante was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 21 on the charges, for which he must serve 85 percent of the sentence before being eligible for parole. Woman Struck, Killed By NJ Transit Train A woman was struck and killed by a NJ Transit train in Camden County, authorities said. She was hit just south of the Lindenwold station by Atlantic City Rail Line train 4612 at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, a NJ Transit spokesman said. Service between Atco and Cherry Hill was temporarily suspended in both directions. There were about 160 passengers and crew on the train, which left Atlantic City at 6:49 a.m. and was due in Philadelphia at 8:28 a.m. The woman’s name was not immediately available. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
