An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Putnam Motorist Who Crosses Double Yellow Line Had Heroin, Yorktown PD Says A 31-year-old Putnam Valley man was arrested and charged with possession heroin following a traffic stop in Yorktown Sunday afternoon. Vincent Pasciucco was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanor. Police observed Pasciucco crossing a double yellow line on East Main Street. An investigation at the scene revealed Pasciucco to be in possession of the heroin and he was taken back to police headquarter for processing. Yorktown Man Arrested At White Plains Hotel After Court No-Show A 45-year-old Yorktown man was arrested by Yorktown Police at a hotel in White Plains after he failed to appear in court. Joseph Porticelli was arrested on the bench warrant,  in connection with a charge of criminal contempt in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor. After he no-showed the July 20 court appearance, police located him at the Hyatt House in White Plains. Last month, Porticelli was arrested and charged after he allegedly threatened someone with a firearm. Porticelli was remanded to Westchester County Jail and is due back in court on July 25.
