Democrats Retain Control Of Hyde Park Town Board HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Democrats in Hyde Park remained in control of the town board Tuesday. Supervisor Aileen Rohor ran unopposed. In Ward 1, incumbent Emily Svenson, a Democrat ran unopposed. In Ward 2, incumbent Democrat David Ray defeated Patrick Lindley in his run for a second term 485 votes to 377 votes.  In Ward 3, Joseph Marrine, a Democrat, defeated Republican Salvatore DiPressi 396 votes to 332 votes. Incumbent Ken Schneider, ran unopposed in Ward 4.

Spinzia Defeats Washburn To Remain Rhinebeck Supervisor RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Voters in Rhinebeck gave Democrat incumbent Elizabeth Spinzia another term Tuesday. Spinzia defeated Republican challenger Bruce Washburn 1,189 votes to 993 votes, 54.49 percent to 45.51 percent. Democrats Edmond Roberts and Allan Scheer were elected to the town board with 1,323 votes and 1,316 votes, respectively. Republican Sheryl Monaco trailed with 923 votes. Democrat Barry Sherrod defeated Republican Kyle Eighmy for Highway Superintendent 1,366 votes to 795 votes.

Tancredi Defeats Englehardt To Remain Poughkeepsie Supervisor POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Republican incumbent Todd Tancredi was elected to a second term over Democrat challenger Steve Engelhardt 3,549 votes to 1,999 votes, 63.31 percent to 36.58 percent. Jon Baisley, William Carlos, Joseph Conte, Michael Cifone, and Joseph Lepore ran unopposedd for town council in Wards 1 through 5. In Ward 6, Democrat incumbent Ann Sherwin defeated Republican challenger John Simmons, 632 votes to 459 votes.

Democrats Lead In Philipstown Elections PHILIPSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Democrats are leading in the race for two open seats on the Philipstown Town Board Tuesday. Incumbent Democrats Robert Flaherty and Nancy Montgomery are leading with 1,714 votes and 1,616 votes, respectively. Republican Craig Watters trails with 1,186 Supervisor Richard Shea is running unopposed.  Republican Tina Merando is leading Democrat Ann McGrath-Gallagher in the race for town clerk, 1,444 votes to 1,180 votes, 55.03 percent to 44.97 percent.

Man Spotted On Metro-North Hudson Line Tracks In Police Custody CORTLANDT, N.Y. -- A man was arrested by Cortlandt State Police Monday afternoon after he was spotted trespassing on the train tracks north of the Cortlandt Train Station, according to Metro-North.  The man was seen trespassing on the tracks at 4:11 p.m. State police were called and took him into custody at 4:23 p.m, according to Metro-North. There was no impact to train service, Metro-North said.
