Neil Martin Challenges Barbara Zulauf In Beekman Supervisor Race BEEKMAN, N.Y. -- Republican Barbara Zulauf is running for a second term as Beekman Town Supervisor against Democrat Neil Martin. The election is on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Zulauf previously served on the town board for 10 years. She said Beekman needs more economic development in its town center and lack of growth has been due to the need for water and sewer infrastructure, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Impact Of Sandy Still Felt Three Years Later LOWER HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- Oct. 29 will be the three-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy making landfall in the Lower Hudson area. Homes were destroyed, power was out for weeks and waiting in line for gas for more than an hour became the norm. Three people died in Westchester, two of them children.
