Bridgeport Man Sentenced After Arrest With Crack Cocaine And Loaded Gun BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man has been sentenced to 66 months in prison for possession of a loaded firearm and crack cocaine, according to Deirdre M. Daly, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Lamar Carter, 36, was arrested by Bridgeport police back on May 28, 2014 after a traffic stop, Daly said. A subsequent search lead to the discovery of a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with one bullet in the chamber and 11 in the magazine, along with 14 bags of crack cocaine, according to court documents. Water Main Breaks On Merrimac Street In Danbury DANBURY, Conn. -- There has been a water main break on Merrimac Street in Danbury as a result of a contractor digging through the water main, according to Mayor Mark Boughton.  A crew is en-route to the location to begin shutting off water service to the area so that the water main may be repaired.
