Norwalk High School Cheerleaders Plan Car Wash, Bake Sale Fundraiser
NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk High School cheerleaders are raising money to attend National Cheerleaders Association Camp at Lake Bryn Mawr Camp in Honesdale, Pa. Support the NHS Cheerleading team at its car wash and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The team needs money for transportation and team gear. Camp Lake Bryn Mawr’s program has an intensive four-day curriculum that focuses on the proper balance of skill, leadership, technique and character. The car wash and bake sale will take place at the Norwalk Eagles Club, 6 Mott Ave., Norwalk.

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Two experimental works by the innovative artist-photographer Eadweard Muybridge from the Bruce Museum’s collection have come up from storage and are now on view at the Greenwich museum. Muybridge began his pioneering photographic work in animal movement in 1872 at the request of racehorse owner and former California Gov. Leland Stanford. Junior Police Academy Kicks Off In Ridgefield
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The first day of the Junior Police Academy was Monday, July 25.This week-long program invites children ages eight to 15 to learn about what local police officers do. Some of the topics covered include: Crime scene investigation Accident reconstruction Laser and radar Police K-9 This is the 13th year of the program in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield. The JPA was started by Lieutenant Shawn Platt when he was the department's Detective Youth Officer.

New Grad From Greenwich High Competes On Champion U.S. Math Team
GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich High School graduate Michael Kural, from the class of 2016, is a member of the U. S. Math Team that has for the second year in a row won first place in the 2016 International Mathematical Olympiad. The U.S. team competed with high school students from more than 100 countries around the world in early July at the 57th International Mathematical Olympiad held in Hong Kong.
