Prospect Hill Rededicates Flag In Memory Of Parent, Activist
PELHAM, N.Y. -- Principal Richard Limato and the Prospect Hill Elementary School community rededicated and raised a new flag in memory of Deirdre Sparico, Prospect Hill parent and community activist. The flag was originally dedicated in memory of Sparico for her spirit, pride and love for the children of Prospect Hill on Oct. 5, 1990 by the Pelham Civics Association. Eastchester Middle School Teachers Collaborate On Subjects
EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- Eastchester Middle School teachers offer students units of study that reflect collaboration among teachers of different subjects. For example, a unit on Egypt is taught in both social studies and English classes. Art teachers Sarah Simeone and Samantha Larrea then worked on a project that would enhance students understanding of Ancient Egypt. They decided to create canopic jar designs used during the mummification process.

Garnerville Motorcyclist Suffers Severe Head Injury In Crash
VALLEY COTTAGE, N.Y. -- A Garnerville motorcyclist suffered life-threatening head injuries Sunday night as a result of being tossed from his vehicle and losing his helmet when the bike veered off Route 9W, according to lohud.com Police are unsure if another vehicle was involved when the crash occurred southbound from Haverstraw at 8 p.m., according to lohud.com.
