The program is accepting applications from Connecticut residents who are unemployed and have exhausted 26 weeks or more of unemployment. Yonkers Youths Study Hudson In Summer STEM Program YONKERS, N.Y. -- During July, seventh- and eighth-grade Yonkers Public School students took on the role of scientists as part of the Summer STEM Initiative program in collaboration with Sarah Lawrence College and the Center for the Urban River at Beczak. Each group of students visited CURB to participate in "Catch of the Day," seining as well as water quality monitoring. During seining, participants waded into the Hudson to catch various species of fish, crabs and shrimp using a seine net. Once on shore, they kept a tally of the species caught.
