Police Charge Man, 27, In Route 133 Murder OSSINING, N.Y. -- Ossining Police have arrested and charged a man in the murder of a Yonkers resident whose body was discovered on Route 133 in late August. Joaquin A. Recinos-Garcia, 27, was arrested by Ossining Police on Friday and charged with murdering Luis Blanco, 62 in August. Recinos-Garcia was arraigned on Saturday in Ossining Town Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail. Westchester-Fairfield VisionWalk Fights Blindness NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Hundreds of people will be in New Rochelle Sunday with the goal of fighting vision loss. The Westchester-Fairfield 5K VisionWalk is Sunday at 10 a.m. at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle. Organizers are hoping to raise $125,000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness ,to support gene therapy, stem cell and pharmaceutical-based research that could save and restore sight. Scarborough Engine Company Hosts Open House BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The Scarborough Engine Company is giving residents a chance to go behind the scenes. The fire department is hosting its annual open house on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 591 Scarborough Road in Briarcliff Manor. The event will feature demonstrations, children's activities and food. The Scarborough Engine Company has been part of the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department since 1972. The Briarcliff Manor Fire Department has been all volunteer since 1901 and is always looking for new members.

Briarcliff Community Day Features Fireworks BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The annual Briarcliff Community Day will be taking place on Sat, Sept. 19 at Lawn Memorial Park. The day will feature bumper ball soccer games, the Marching Cobras of New York and the annual egg toss. Briarcliff residents can also enjoy an obstacle course, dunk tank and air castle bounce house. Hendrick Hudson High School Inducts Six Into Hall Of Fame MONTROSE, N.Y. --- Hendrick Hundson will be inducting a new class into its Hall of Fame in October. The district announced its 2015 class, which will be inducted in a ceremony on Oct. 2 at Cortlandt Colonial. The inductees will be honored on Oct. 3 at halftime of the homecoming football game. The 2003 boys soccer team finished 18-2-2, winning the sectional finals. Coached by Roger Arnold, the team featured back-to-back Con Edison award winners in Brian Kuritzky and Will Sprouse. Police Investigate Second Robbery At Jefferson Valley Bank In Two Weeks YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- The Yorktown Police Department is investigating a new bank robbery at Putnam County Savings Bank at 3649 Lee Road in Jefferson Valley. According to police, at 11:47 a.m., two black males, approximately 6 feet tall and in their mid-20s, wearing dark colored clothes, sunglasses and dark colored hats entered the bank. Westchester's Donald Trump, George Pataki Spar At GOP Debates WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Peekskill's George Pataki and Donald Trump, who has property in Bedford, continued their war of words at two Republican presidential debates on Wednesday. 6-Year-Old's Mother Charged With Negligent Homicide, Says Westchester DA CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Kathleen Dymes was charged Wednesday with three counts, including criminally negligent homicide, in the death of her 6-year-old daughter, Lacey Carr, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's office. Dymes, 51, was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor. Mother Is Charged In Death Of 6-Year-Old Lacey Carr CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- Kathleen Dymes, the mother of a 6-year-old Croton girl, Lacey Carr, who was found dead in April, surrendered to Croton police Wednesday and is being arraigned in White Plains in the afternoon. Dymes arrived at the police station just before 1 p.m. and did not talk to reporters, according to lohud.com.
