Suffern Debates Reserve Duty Pay For Police Officer
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A Suffern police officer who also serves in the Air Force Reserve will reportedly not get his entire salary during a 90-day deployment to the Mideast, according to lohud.com.The village Board of Trustees decided Jan. 4 that Bill Simurra, 27, will get his pay for 30 days, but not for the remaining 60, said lohud.com.
He will receive $2,000 per month, which the state requires, said lohud.com. Simurra's full salary with benefits is $72,000, reported lohud.com.
