FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- An international initiative to promote computer education is underway so the Fairfield Public Library is offering everyone, from age 6 to 106, a chance to learn "How to Write a Computer Program" on Dec. 5. Palisades Residents Back Zoning Board's Decision To Limit House Size
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Palisades residents want to make sure the Orangetown Zoning Board of Appeals does not reverse its denial of a proposal for construction of a house that would be twice the size of the largest house in the historic district.So far, about 100 people have signed a petition supporting the board's decision and opposing the project. A letter to the board cites three occasions, Sept. 8, Oct. 13 and Nov. 10, when the board denied the proposal. Watch Ice Sculpting, Ride Polar Express At Rye Brook Winter Fest
RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- Ice sculpture demonstrations, a Polar Express train ride and showing of the "The Polar Express" film at Blind Brook High School are planned Friday at the Rye Brook Winter Festival. Activities include crafts and games, as well as a snowball fight with Dodge balls, and performance by the high school choir and band at the Christmas tree and Menorah lighting ceremony. Jails, Jobs, Climate Dominate Dutchess County Budget Discussion
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- County jails, climate and jobs were discussed among attendees at a Tuesday night public hearing about next year’s budget proposal for Dutchess County, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
