Rye Concert Raises $35,000 for Parkinson's Research RYE, N.Y. -- Local residents and musicians raised nearly $35,000 at the 13th annual Music for Parkinson’s Research Nov. 22 at the Congregation Emanu-El in Rye.The benefit drew 120 guests for an afternoon of chamber music to benefit the research programs of the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Dover Man Charged With Stealing Rifle From Wappinger WAPPINGER, N.Y. -- A Dover man has been charged in the theft of a firearm, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.Police arrested Scott Sweeney, 39, on a grand larceny in connection with a stolen rifle from the Town of Wappinger, they say. The theft was reported to the Sheriff’s Office in late October, according to police. An investigation revealed Sweeney as a potential suspect, and he is accused of stealing the rifle and then selling it to another person, police said. Jean K. Harlukowicz, 91, Of Nyack NYACK, N.Y. -- Jean K. Harlukowicz, of Nyack, died Monday, Nov. 23. She was 91.Harlukowicz was born Jan. 6, 1924, to John and Frances Wanamaker.  She attended St. Ann’s School and Nyack High School, graduating with the class of 1942.  Harlukowicz was employed for 35 years as a repair service administrator for New York Telephone in South Nyack and Nanuet.  She was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Nyack and the Orangetown and Nyack Senior Citizens Club.  Harlukowicz was predeceased by her husband Walter in August of 1994.  She is survived by sons, Jack (Carmella), of Hamden, …
